Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.—Ephesians 5:25-27
Purity is not merely something that accomplish by not doing something or staying away from certain activities. True purity is a work of God through the ministry of the Holy Spirit. As Christians teenagers, many of you are doing a great job in keeping your bodies physically pure, but that is not enough. Your purity is dependent upon your relationship with Jesus Christ. Remember the goal of purity is not mere abstaining, but presenting. Yet, in our own strength, we will always be stained by sin rendering us unpresentable. This is why our Savior is constantly looking to sanctify us through His Word. God’s grace is always enough to wash away our sin. Purity comes through a relationship with Jesus Christ.
