Saturday Night Dinner and Quick Missions Update

Dear Friends and Family,

It has been quite some time since I have written you concerning my missions trip to Costa Rica and quite a lot has happened since then.  Because of some very generous friends, I am now only less than $250 from reaching my fundraising goal!  Again, I cannot begin to tell you how humbled I am to see how so many of you have generously given toward this trip.

One major event I would like to ask for your prayer concerns our big spaghetti dinner this Saturday evening, March 20th. If you are in the area, I would like to invite you to come out and eat dinner with us!  The dinner begins at 5pm and ends at 8pm, and of course you are free to come and go at anytime.  Freewill donations will be taken for the event.  Along with some delicious food, the evening will also feature some show tunes by Jean Allen, a talented musician who will be traveling to Costa Rica with us.  At 6:30pm, our missions team will be performing a short drama presentation and singing a song we have been learning in Spanish.  If you are not in the area, will you pray that many will come out and join us?

Other Prayer Requests

Pray for me as I begin sermon preparation.  I will be preaching a Sunday morning sermon while in Costa Rica at the church we will be helping.  Never having preached through in interpreter, this may prove to be a difficult challenge.  Yet, I am confident that the Word of God and the work of the Holy Spirit can overcome any obstacle.  Please pray that God’s Word will do the work that only it can do.

Pray that I will be able to raise the remaining amount of funds necessary to go on the trip.  All funds need to be raised by May.

Pray that the Lord will work mightily through the students of Rock Country Christian School.  We have a great group of teens going.  Please pray for our unity, service and humility as we seek to spread the gospel and serve others.  You can also pray for the adult sponsors such as me as we seek to lead by example.
