Kevin Thompson Quoted in Two Newspapers on the Same Day
Ok, I think it is kind of cool to get attention from the press again. Today I was quoted in two different local newspapers concerning the big National Day of Prayer event Rock County Christian School is holding. I wasn’t exactly interviewed, it was just that both papers printed the same press release I wrote. Yes, I quoted myself in the press release. Here are the articles:

Costa Rica Missions Trip Update
Dear Friends,
We want you to know, brothers, about the grace of God that has been given among the churches of Macedonia, for in a severe test of affliction, their abundance of joy and their extreme poverty have overflowed in a wealth of generosity on their part. For they gave according to their means, as I can testify, and beyond their means, of their own accord, begging us earnestly for the favor of taking part in the relief of the saints—and this, not as we expected, but they gave themselves first to the Lord and then by the will of God to us. – II Corinthians 8:1-5
He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God. – II Corinthians 9:10-11
As of this writing, I can now officially tell you that I have reached my fundraising goal of $1,000. This is due to some pretty amazing sacrifices that you have made. Le me again thank those who have generously given to this effort. I know I say this every month, but I am truly humbled at just how much some of you have given on my behalf. I don’t think anyone really enjoys asking people for money (except for maybe Democrats in Washington), so it is not easy for me to do so. I truly appreciate all of your loving and prayerful support.
However, if you were still thinking about giving toward this project, let me encourage you to still do so. We still have some students struggling to raise their own support. We also are looking to leave a generous amount of this money behind us in Costa Rica through the form of building supplies, ministry materials, evangelistic tools and love gifts for our host church.
All donations are tax deductible. All donations are tax deductable. Make checks out to Rock County Christian School. Be sure to write Mr. Thompson Missions Trip” in the memo line. Mail checks to:

Our fundraisers last month were also very successful. With your help, I was able to sell $90 worth of cookie dough. Our biggest fundraiser was our spaghetti dinner. What a blessing that was! We were all amazed that about 200 people came that evening. We actually had to run out to get more food! The evening brought in over $800 in profit. You can see pictures here – http://rccsmissions.wordpress.com/2010/03/26/spaghetti-success/.
The big event this past month was our Costa Rica Missions Chapel on Wednesday, April 21. Our group performed a short drama and sand one song we have learned in Spanish (Open the Eyes of Our Hearts). The students each gave a report as to how we plan to serve while down there. I gave a demonstration on presenting the gospel using the Evangacube. The chapel is available online for you to view. Unfortunately, due to a battery not being fully charged, only half of the chapel was recorded. You can see the video here – http://rccschapelandevents.blip.tv/file/3557045/; and pictures here – http://rccsmissions.wordpress.com/2010/05/05/costa-rica-missions-team-chapel-at-rccs/.
Tomorrow, our team will be traveling to Janesville to present our ministry to the students at our elementary campus. Please pray that this goes well. And of course, if you are in the area, you are welcome to join us. The chapel will begin at 8:30am.
By the way, this summer after our missions trip, we will be traveling to a few churches to report back. If your church would be interested in having our team, please let me know.
You can be praying for me as continue to prepare the Sunday morning message I will be giving down there. You can also pray for the whole team to have a Christ-centered attitude, a willingness to serve and a bond of unity with each other.
Thank you once again for all of your support.
Because of Grace,
Kevin Thompson
